In this texture piece, inspired by amethyst, the subject is nothingness. Although I crafted the piece in a dark tone, I wanted it to evoke a sense of darkness only when viewed deeply for extended periods. My true focus is the new possibilities, new existences, new births that can exist within nothingness—the white spaces. Nothingness may not be the boundless abstract darkness we imagine, but perhaps it's a labyrinth where we find ourselves lost, searching for the exit. Grief stretches as far as my eyes can see. If I were to walk, what doors would the darkness open for me? Time seems to stop, is light hard to find here? I shiver, as if there's no hope. If I were to sit and rest, would someone whisper silence into my ear? I may not see the light, but I feel like I'm breathing. I've been lost before, but this isn't like the others.
