I created this texture piece inspired by a photo I took of a canyon rock in the Ören Canyon in Fethiye, Muğla, Turkey. I quickly snapped the photo in excitement, but when I lowered my phone and looked at the rock face-to-face, it seemed to speak to me of the weariness of centuries of existence. The friction marks on the iron, the gaps in the broken pieces, the colorful vein patterns running through the rocks. It had so much to say, and I was ready to listen. Enjoy the artwork.
Some of us have sharp edges, some soft. We drift along with our consciously ingrained character. We strive to adapt to the shapes that complement us. Even if time tears us apart, we exist to fit into a whole. Indeed, dispersion isn't just about being fragmented and lost; sometimes it's about being integrated elsewhere and belonging there.
